Justice seeks to address harm, protect rights, and maintain fairness within society. The Human Constitution explores our right to fair treatment and our responsibility to respect the dignity and rights of others. While accountability remains essential, justice is not only about punishment. It is also about learning, restoration, healing, and the prevention of future harm. Through Istima, justice becomes an opportunity for growth at multiple levels. Individuals may learn from their actions, those who have been harmed may find pathways toward healing, and societies may learn how to create conditions that reduce future suffering. Restorative approaches to justice recognize that accountability and humanity can coexist. The goal is not simply to identify wrongdoing but to strengthen relationships, communities, and systems in ways that support greater dignity, responsibility, and maturity.
