Accountability in Government

Government decisions affect the lives of millions of people. The Human Constitution explores our right to accountable institutions and our responsibility to participate in civic life and oversight where possible. Through Istima, accountability allows governments, citizens, and institutions to learn from mistakes, improve decision-making, and strengthen trust. Healthy accountability is not about punishment alone; it is about creating systems that encourage learning, transparency, responsibility, and continuous improvement.
