Digital Literacy

We now have access to more information than at any other time in history. Digital technologies have transformed how we learn, communicate, work, create, and participate in society. The Human Constitution explores our right to access knowledge and our responsibility to develop the skills needed to engage thoughtfully with information in a rapidly changing world. Through Istima, digital literacy becomes far more than technical competence. It includes the ability to evaluate information, recognize manipulation, understand context, distinguish facts from interpretations, and engage respectfully across differences. As artificial intelligence, social media, and digital systems continue to evolve, the challenge is not simply learning how to use technology but learning how to remain thoughtful, curious, responsible, and human while using it. A mature society depends not only on access to information but also on the wisdom to navigate it with dignity.
