Profiles, records and automated classifications can affect how a person is recognised and treated. We can ask whether information is accurate, relevant and open to correction. People may need privacy or separation between different roles; authenticity does not require total exposure. Organisations that collect and use identity data have responsibilities beyond asking users to manage settings.
