How can we mature between nations and as a species in our relationship with life?

Global Istima includes learning and maturing between nations and as a species. Between nations, reflection on cooperation, conflict, war and peace can help us reconsider decisions and develop more responsible relationships. As a species, we also need to reflect on the effects of how we treat the planet, other animals and the living world, and allow that understanding to shape our conduct with dignity, decency and respect for all forms of life. These responsibilities differ with power, knowledge and capacity. Learning can come through successful cooperation as well as crisis. Maturity requires reflection and a response to what becomes clearer, while remaining open to different experiences and evidence.
