Human Worth & Rights and Responsibilities

Human rights are rooted in the recognition that every person possesses inherent worth. Rights help protect individuals from abuse, exploitation, exclusion, and oppression. Responsibilities emerge from recognizing that other people possess the same worth that we do. Through Istima, humanity continues learning that rights and responsibilities work together. Rights protect dignity. Responsibilities help sustain it. Human worth provides the foundation for both.
