What do we depend on each other and our institutions to provide?

Society is the shared life we create through relationships, communities and institutions. We depend on arrangements that no individual can sustain alone, and we each influence some part of them. Responsibility involves contributing within our capacities and examining how those arrangements affect freedom, care and participation. A society matures when reflection on experience informs its culture and institutions. That requires recognising both personal responsibilities and conditions that need coordinated change, rather than explaining social outcomes only through individual virtues or failures.
