Sovereignty

Sovereignty reflects the ability of a people or nation to govern themselves and make decisions about their future. The Human Constitution explores the right of societies to self-determination and the responsibility to exercise that authority with wisdom, accountability, and respect for human dignity. Through Istima, sovereignty becomes an ongoing learning process about balancing independence with interdependence. In a connected world, societies are increasingly called to navigate both local priorities and shared global responsibilities while preserving their unique identities and freedoms.
