Human Worth & Accountability

People sometimes make harmful choices, commit crimes, abuse power, or cause suffering. Accountability remains important. The Human Constitution explores the challenge of holding both accountability and humanity at the same time. Through Istima, individuals, communities, and societies learn that consequences and dignity are not opposites. A person's actions may require accountability, yet their human worth does not disappear. One of humanity's ongoing challenges is learning how to pursue justice without dehumanization.
