Aging
How can I adapt to ageing without losing my voice in my own life?
Growing older can bring enjoyment, freedom, loss, frustration or changes we have not chosen. There is no required way to feel about it. Someone asking what matters to us now, and giving us time to answer, is a simple expression of dignity.
Age alone does not tell us a person's capacity or preferences. Decisions about care, work, relationships and daily life should include the person whose life it is. Personal preparation belongs alongside responsibilities carried by families, employers and services. Support can increase agency when it is shaped with the person receiving it.
A question to sit with (optional): What would I like others to understand about this part of my life, and which choices matter to me now?
