When does an enhancement expand freedom, and when might it create pressure?

An enhancement proposal needs to be assessed for its particular effects, uncertainties and conditions of access. Choice may be constrained if work, education or competition makes refusal costly. The questions include bodily autonomy, fairness and who carries long-term consequences. People can disagree about desirable capabilities without treating an unenhanced body or mind as less worthy.
