How do my choices about money affect freedom and responsibility?

Money can be difficult to discuss when it carries worry, shame or dependence. We can make room for those feelings while speaking clearly about the actual circumstances and choices.

Money can provide security and options, and it can create dependence or influence within a relationship. The framework invites clarity about needs, commitments, ownership and expectations rather than moral judgments about having more or less. Shared financial decisions require enough information and voice for those affected. A gift, loan and paid exchange carry different expectations and should not be left ambiguous.

For example, before transferring money to a friend, we can clarify whether it is a gift or a loan and agree on any repayment expectations.
