National Identity

Can I value my country without ranking other people's worth below mine?

National identity can hold language, history, affection and shared commitments. It can also include disagreement about whose story is recognised. The framework makes room for belonging while asking whether pride becomes exclusion or claims of superiority. Responsibilities toward a political community do not remove the humanity of people outside it or silence citizens who seek change.
