Pollution

Pollution is one of the clearest examples of how human activity can affect the health of people, ecosystems, animals, oceans, and future generations. The Human Constitution explores our responsibility to recognize the consequences of our actions and to seek solutions that restore and protect the conditions that support life. Through Istima, pollution invites humanity to learn from past choices and to develop more responsible ways of producing, consuming, and managing resources. The challenge is not simply reducing pollution but strengthening our capacity for stewardship, innovation, cooperation, and restoration. A mature society accepts responsibility for its impact and actively works to improve the systems upon which life depends.
